Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and vital signs measurement.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during clinical procedures and examinations.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, draw blood, and administer injections as directed.
- Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality.
- Handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing patient check-in/check-out processes.
- Provide patient education and answer questions regarding treatment plans and medications.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) software is a plus.
