Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intake, vitals checks, and prepare patients for examinations by physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Lab Work: Conduct basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Room Preparation: Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms, sterilizing equipment and stocking supplies.
- Communication: Interact professionally with patients, families, and staff to ensure a positive patient experience and clear communication of instructions.
- Assistance: Assist providers during procedures and administer medications as directed and supervised.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Interpersonal: Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Professionalism: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor.
