Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Accurately record medical histories and vital signs in EMR systems
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen processing
- Schedule appointments and manage patient correspondence
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic or Athena preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
