Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications under supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid Michigan medical assistant license
- Flexible availability for weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 7am-7pm)
