Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, accurately measuring vitals, weight, and recording medical history.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean environment.
- Perform phlebotomy and administer injections as directed by the provider.
- Manage front desk duties, including patient check-in/check-out and insurance verification.
- Document patient encounters into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system efficiently.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association must be current.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a fast-paced urgent care or family practice.
- Proficient in computer systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
