Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including patient vital sign assessments, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, prepare exam rooms, and maintain sterile environments
- Administer medications and injections per physician protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Handle laboratory specimen processing and basic lab testing
- Support emergency response protocols during weekend coverage
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as required
- Valid Michigan state medical assistant license
