Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, injections, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and medical supplies
- Accurately document patient information in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries
- Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations during weekend shifts
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and lab services with external providers
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical office software
- BLS/CPR certification (must maintain current)
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during high-volume weekends
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Flexibility to cover rotating weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 7am-7pm)
- Valid District of Columbia medical assistant license
