Your Role:
As a Weekend Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care and service during off-peak hours. You will assist providers, manage patient flow, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with a professional and welcoming demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Perform and document vital signs, EKGs, and basic point-of-care testing accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
- Accurately record patient information, medical history, and treatment plans into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly adhering to safety regulations.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and ensure proper discharge instructions are provided.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA certification preferred).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required by the first day of employment.
- Experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred, with specific weekend availability a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
