Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist providers with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and performing basic procedures such as EKGs and venipuncture.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Pharmacy Coordination: Process prescription refill requests and communicate with patients regarding medication instructions.
- Lab Services: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean and sterile environment in accordance with OSHA and facility standards.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure clarity and understanding of treatment plans.
- Emergencies: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in triage procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be maintained.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- License: Active Medical Assistant license in the state of Arizona.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) and computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Schedule: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required.
- Interpersonal: Strong patient-centered approach with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
