Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient examinations, including vital signs, height, weight, and blood pressure monitoring.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient exams and procedures during weekend shifts.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Coordinate patient follow-up care and schedule appointments, including remote consultations when applicable.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or outpatient clinic.
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar).
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with flexibility for shift rotations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
