Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals assessment, and medical history collection accurately.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor medical interventions.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain strict hygiene standards.
- Manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing patient paperwork.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Collaborate with the nursing and front-desk staff to ensure seamless patient flow on weekends.
- Handle patient inquiries professionally and escalate critical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or equivalent experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1+ years of clinical experience preferred, specifically in a primary care or outpatient setting.
- Must be available to work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and occasional holidays.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first mindset.
- Valid California Medical Assistant license (if applicable by state law).
