Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns, drapes, and positioning.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and EKGs, as directed by providers.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient flow, including greeting patients, checking them in, and updating medical records in the EMR system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary examination room environment.
- Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle changes.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or NHMA) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- CPR and BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
