Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient examinations and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate).
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with history taking and ensuring patient comfort.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, ensuring all documentation is timely and confidential.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and handle incoming patient inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized examination room environment, adhering to infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification (if applicable to specialty).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer literacy with experience using EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
