Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify their identity and insurance information accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and patient history.
- Assist the provider during patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs and point-of-care testing, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage patient records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems securely and efficiently.
- Provide patient education on medications and follow-up care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
