Responsibilities
- Perform basic life support (BLS) and EKG certifications in accordance with state regulations.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean clinical environment.
- Take and record vital signs, patient history, and update medical records accurately.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance verifications.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventative care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly desirable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
