Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner while managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and prepare patients for examinations as directed by providers.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures, including drawing blood, administering injections, and EKGs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and medical charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventative care instructions.
- Manage office inventory, including restocking supplies and ordering medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as required by the role.
- Valid California driverβs license and clean driving record.
