Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details before service delivery
- Conduct thorough claim follow-up and resolve denials/rejections promptly
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and documentation in EHR systems
- Analyze aging reports and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure coding accuracy and documentation compliance
- Stay updated on HIPAA regulations, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and payer policies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory or hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, NextGen, or equivalent)
- Deep knowledge of insurance claim processes, CPT/HCPCS codes, and modifiers
