Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for all services rendered
- Manage denied claims with follow-up and appeals procedures
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve payment discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document billing codes correctly
- Generate monthly reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic EHR and Athenahealth billing systems
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Excellent communication for patient/provider interactions
