Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance payers with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through systematic follow-up and appeals
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports and identify outstanding balances
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and industry coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
- Generate monthly financial reports for department leadership
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Proficiency with Epic, Athenahealth, or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of CMS-1500 forms and UB-04 billing
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex insurance scenarios
- Ability to maintain 99% data integrity in high-volume environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
