Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Use billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.) for claim management
- Resolve patient billing inquiries and payment discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical teams for accurate coding
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Certification (CPC, CMBS, or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Experience with electronic health records systems
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
