Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Post payments and adjustments accurately in EHR systems
- Follow up on denied claims and appeals with insurance carriers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Analyze account aging and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly reports for revenue cycle management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Strong understanding of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Associate's degree in health information management or related field
