Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies through effective communication with providers and insurers
- Maintain accurate patient financial records and documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and industry coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Generate monthly reports on revenue cycle performance
- Assist with patient inquiries regarding billing statements and insurance coverage
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
