Responsibilities
- Process and submit electronic/digital claims to insurance payers with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before rendering services
- Follow up on denied/underpaid claims to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ICD-10, and CPT coding standards
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct payer and patient communication
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics (AR, denial rates)
- Train staff on billing software updates and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent certification (RHIA, CCS-P preferred)
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory care settings
- Proficiency in Epic, eClinicalWorks, or NextGen EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding guidelines
- Demonstrated success in reducing claim denials by 15%+
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credentials required
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
