Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage details
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through effective communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing systems for claim processing
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial and government payer policies
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and reconciliation
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
