Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count supplies/instruments pre/post-procedure per protocol
- Transport patients and position them for surgery
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor biological indicators
- Document all surgical activities accurately in EHR systems
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- BLS certification maintained
- Ability to stand 8+ hours with frequent bending
- Experience with general surgery specialties preferred
- Strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
- Pass background check and drug screening
