Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance providers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage before service delivery
- Conduct thorough claim follow-ups and resolve denials/adjustments
- Maintain precise patient account records in Epic EMR system
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to document accurate coding (ICD-10, CPT)
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in hospital/clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expert knowledge of CMS guidelines and payer policies
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Athena, eClinicalWorks)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or related field preferred
- Experience with DC Medicaid Waiver programs advantageous
