Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and underpayments
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and financial records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and billing regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and payers
- Utilize medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification (CPC, COC, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
