Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly financial reports and aging accounts receivable summaries
- Stay updated on CMS regulations and payer policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance claim processing
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
