Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before services rendered
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through effective communication with payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Generate daily/weekly billing reports for financial review
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper coding documentation
- Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expertise in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong understanding of EOBs and remittance processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in healthcare environment
