Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to ensure compliance
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning, draping, and monitoring vital signs
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to optimize workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital or surgical center
- Knowledge of sterile processing, anatomy, and surgical procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments with precision
- Strong communication skills and ability to function as part of a team
- Current BLS certification
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and on-call shifts as needed
