Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims for multiple insurance carriers using Epic and NextGen systems
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Manage denial resolution and appeals with 95% first-pass success rate
- Conduct regular audits to ensure coding compliance (ICD-10, CPT)
- Collaborate with physicians and coding teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and patient privacy protocols
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinic or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in claim scrubbing and electronic claim submission
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to meet monthly productivity targets of 150+ claims per day
- Valid Arizona driver's license (required for occasional provider visits)
