Responsibilities
- Accurately code and process medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service rendering
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers and resolve claim denials
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards
- Analyze billing reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Train new billers on our proprietary billing systems and protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing modules
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance claims
- Ability to handle high-volume billing cycles while maintaining quality
