Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 98% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and discrepancies through appeals and follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coding accuracy
- Utilize Epic and NextGen billing software for daily operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Advanced Excel skills with data analysis capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems and claim scrubbing tools
