Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Analyze denials and appeals to optimize reimbursement rates
- Maintain detailed patient records in electronic health systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Strong attention to detail with 95%+ accuracy in claim submission
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
