Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits using advanced billing systems
- Manage accounts receivable through follow-up on denied or unpaid claims
- Analyze EOBs to identify billing discrepancies and resolve payment issues
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports for leadership
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing modules
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills for claim denials and appeals management
- Experience with electronic claims submission (837/835)
- Ability to maintain 98% billing accuracy rate
