As a Medical Biller at Apex Medical Solutions, you will be the financial backbone of our patient care services. You will ensure that our providers are compensated accurately and timely while maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and data security.
Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) to minimize denials.
- Manage patient billing inquiries, resolve account discrepancies, and ensure accounts receivable are collected efficiently.
- Utilize practice management software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) to track revenue cycles and update patient records.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing guidelines.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports and revenue summaries for management review.
- Collaborate with the coding and collections teams to identify and resolve billing issues.
Qualifications
- Certification (CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS) is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or a similar healthcare finance role.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for patient interaction.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
