Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility for maximum reimbursement
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through proactive follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR aging
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing platforms for daily operations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with commercial insurance carriers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
