Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through systematic research
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and collection metrics
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation
- Update patient demographic and insurance information in practice management systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial insurance carriers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or Athenahealth billing systems
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with EHR systems and electronic claims submission
