Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures (instrument passing, suturing)
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Transport patients and position for surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-surgery
- Operate surgical equipment (scopes, lights, cameras)
- Document procedural activities in EHR systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (will obtain during training)
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Commitment to completing 6-month training program
