Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims with precision using Epic and NextGen systems
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for optimal reimbursement
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation and follow-up
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
- Stay updated on CMS regulations and coding changes (CPT, ICD-10)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling
