Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Manage patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies through insurance verification
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Generate monthly reports on collection rates and account aging metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper documentation for reimbursement
- Maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems with updated billing information
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements and insurance coverage
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail with numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
