Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on claim denials
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Utilize Epic EMR systems for billing documentation
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
- Maintain organized patient billing records
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in physician or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer policies
- Experience with Epic EMR or similar billing software
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
