Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on medical claims (CMS-1500) with insurance carriers.
- Review and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue collection.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Stay current with healthcare coding updates (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
Qualifications
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CBCS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
