Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
- Submit and follow up on medical insurance claims (HCPCS, CPT, ICD-10) with insurance carriers.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and patient statements to resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain up-to-date patient records.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and coding standards.
- Assist in month-end reporting and revenue reconciliation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree preferred but not mandatory).
- No prior medical billing experience required; we will train the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
