Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Accurately complete and submit medical claims (CMS-1500 form) to insurance carriers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and initiate the appeals process when necessary.
- Manage and resolve patient billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of billing transactions and patient accounts.
- Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives.
- Willingness to learn new software and billing procedures.
