Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial).
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims to maximize revenue cycle health.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the billing system.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations and coding updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CEMC certification is highly desirable.
- 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a related field.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
