As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our clients receive the reimbursement they deserve while maintaining strict compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Claims Management: Accurately prepare, code, and submit medical claims to insurance payers (including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers) to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Denial Management: Monitor claims status, identify trends in denials, and appeal rejected claims to recover lost revenue.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services to minimize billing errors.
- Patient Billing: Generate and send monthly statements to patients, resolve account discrepancies, and collect outstanding balances.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing practices adhere to HIPAA regulations and internal company policies.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed records of billing activities and generate weekly/monthly revenue reports.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Certification such as CBCS, CPC, or CIMA is highly preferred but not mandatory for immediate consideration.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in medical billing, claims processing, or medical coding.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner) and medical billing software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives.
