As a Medical Biller, you will be the bridge between our clinical services and financial operations, ensuring claims are processed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Accurately complete and submit medical claims (CMS-1500 and UB-04) to insurance payers.
- Perform regular follow-ups on unpaid claims and initiate the appeals process to recover revenue.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations prior to services rendered.
- Research and resolve patient billing inquiries and outstanding balances.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company billing policies.
- Utilize EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) to document billing activities.
- Collaborate with the coding and collections team to reduce denials and improve cash flow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
- CPC, COC, or RHIT certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with practice management software and EHR systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting.
