Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical claims for accuracy before submission to insurance carriers.
- Manage the complete revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, and medical coding.
- Post payments and reconcile patient accounts to resolve outstanding balances.
- Handle insurance denials and appeals to maximize reimbursement rates.
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing inquiries and statements.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company billing policies.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to update patient records and track claim status.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Health Information Management is preferred.
- Experience with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines is highly desired.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
