Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance coverage to ensure accuracy.
- Process claims (CMS-1500) and submit to payers electronically.
- Analyze denial reasons and implement corrective action plans.
- Communicate with patients and insurance carriers regarding outstanding balances.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) to manage patient accounts.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Medical Billing/Coding preferred).
- Certification such as CPC, CBC, or CEM is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or coding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical billing software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
